Enough small talk. On to the reveal! Here is the book trailer for my upcoming paranormal YA book INBETWEEN!!!

******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Since the car crash that took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s life has been a freaky—and unending—lesson in caution. Surviving “accidents” has taken priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so Emma spends her days taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling in love with a boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who makes her chest ache and her head spin? Not an option.
It’s not easy being dead, especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate has put on his list not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him hell about spending time with Emma, but Finn couldn’t let her die before, and he’s not about to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the only thing he has left…his soul.

“I need your help.” Easton’s violet eyes widened when I gripped his duster, and pulled him under the shelter of a shadow.

“Oh God,” he groaned. “What did you do now?”

“Why do you automatically jump to the conclusion that I did something?”

“Because you either dragged me in here to make out, or you screwed up again and you need me to get you out of it.” He raised a brow at me and folded his arms across his chest. “Something tells me it’s the latter.”

Spotlight & Review: A STIFF KISS by Avery Olive March 14, 2012

Who knew kissing a corpse would change everything?
Death always hits Xylia Morana too close to home, but she likes it that way. She hangs out with the terminally ill, attends random funerals, and every so often, when the weather is right, she sleeps in open graves.
But after Landon Phoenix, the high school hottie, dies in Xylia’s arms, she sneaks into the morgue to say goodbye. How could she know stealing a kiss from his corpse would wake him up?
With Landon returned to the living and suddenly interested in Xylia, life has new meaning. But what Xylia doesn’t realize is that by kissing Landon back to life, she’s thrown Life and Death off balance. The underworld demands a body, and it might just have to be Xylia’s this time.

Review

A modern day sleeping beauty tale with a morbid twist. This is a book you need to read!
Let me start by saying that A STIFF KISS is the most unique and refreshing thing I’ve read this year. At times the emotion was so deep and the relationships were so real it almost read contemporary, but then you have this paranormal twist as the backdrop for the story that’s completely original. And I loved every single page of it!
The story starts with Xylia, a girl so completely broken by her mother’s death that she finds comfort in attending stranger’s funerals, and visiting the morgue. I found it very easy to connect with Xylia as a character. She is a real teen, with real problems, and she doesn’t know how to deal with them. Throughout the book we also hear from high school hottie Landon, and I was so glad we got to hear his pov as well. The progression of his feelings for Zylia and the way he accepted her made my heart ache. He is definitely swoon worthy in every way. Their love story is unconventional, but oh so sweet, and one I wouldn’t mind reading more of.
I really can’t say enough good things about this book. It was a fresh twist on a reverse sleeping beauty tale and I’ve never read anything like it. I recommend this book to anybody that likes fairytale retellings, paranormal romance, or dark love stories.

Cover Reveal & Sneak Peek Excerpt from MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY! March 11, 2012

I am beyond thrilled to be a part of the cover reveal for MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY! Rachel Harris is by far one of the most amazing people I know. If you are not following this girl on twitter you should be. She is a YA rock star and her new book is a best seller waiting to happen.  Time travel: check. Hot Italian boy: check. Gorgeous cover and amazing writing: check. I don’t know about you but  I can’t wait to get my hands on this book! So, here it is the super sweet cover of…

MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY

On the precipice of her sixteenth birthday, the last thing lone wolf Cat Crawford wants is an extravagant gala thrown by her bubbly stepmother and well-meaning father. So even though Cat knows the family’s trip to Florence, Italy, is a peace offering, she embraces the magical city and all it offers. But when her curiosity leads her to an unusual gypsy tent, she exits . . . right into Renaissance Firenze.
Thrust into the sixteenth century armed with only a backpack full of contraband future items, Cat joins up with her ancestors, the sweet Alessandra and protective Cipriano, and soon falls for the gorgeous aspiring artist Lorenzo. But when the much-older Niccolo starts sniffing around, Cat realizes that an unwanted birthday party is nothing compared to an unwanted suitor full of creeptastic amore. Can she find her way back to modern times before her Italian adventure turns into an Italian forever?
****************************************************************************************************************
And now a super sweet excerpt from
MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY
**********************************************

Alessandra jerks back like I just suggested she prance around the square naked or something. “No! I believe I understand your meaning, and Lorenzo is certainly not my suitor. He is like a brother to me—the three of us grew up together.”

She resumes walking and I fall in step beside her, understanding there has to be more to the story. And as we near the end of the row, I finally ask, “If you’re not into the guy, then what’s the problem?”

At that same moment, a rich, deep chuckle hits my ears. My stomach involuntarily clenches and my gaze sharpens on the back of this mysterious Lorenzo.

Alessandra sighs. “That is the problem.” She places her hand on my arm and solemnly looks me in the eyes. “You must be careful. Lorenzo is beautiful, and it is not uncommon for a girl to walk away from meeting him with a piece of her heart left behind. But he is just eighteen, and not yet ready for marriage.”

I roll my eyes and laugh, then realize she’s serious. “Yeah, I assure you, there’s no danger on my end. I’m not exactly looking for marriage myself.” Because that would be crazy-town.

Alessandra wrinkles her nose as if she doesn’t believe me, but she removes her hand. We close the distance and Cipriano flashes me an open, honest to goodness, lighthearted smile.

“Lorenzo, this is the cousin I was telling you about.”

Slowly the guy turns and I fall head first into the richest chocolate-brown eyes I’ve ever seen. He blinks and long, luscious lashes feather across his bronzed cheeks. I can feel myself gawking, but I physically can’t drag my eyes away. Lorenzo doesn’t smirk or act all conceited, either. He simply stares back, his eyes casually skimming over me, causing my skin to warm and break out in a whole body tingle.

Time seems to stop, and the sounds of the market mute. Alessandra was right. This boy is beautiful.

And he’s looking at me.

Waiting on Wednesday: FLAWED by Kate Avelynn March 7, 2012

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tara Fuller @ 1:41 PM

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. This week I’m spotlighting a book by a fellow Entangled Teen author, Kate Avelynn. FLAWED is a dark YA contemporary and the blurb alone was enough to leave me desperate to read this book. And if the intriguing blurb isn’t enough, how about the gorgeous cover? Beautiful! July can’t get here soon enough.

FLAWED

By: Kate Avelynn

Sarah O’Brien is alive because of the pact she and her brother made twelve years ago—James will protect her from their violent father if she promises to never leave him. For years, she’s watched James destroy his life to save hers. If all he asks for in return is her affection, she’ll give it freely.

Until, with a tiny kiss and a broken mind, he asks for more than she can give.

Sam Donavon has been James’s best friend—and the boy Sarah’s had a crush on—for as long as she can remember. As their forbidden relationship deepens, Sarah knows she’s in trouble. Quiet, serious Sam has decided he’s going to save her. Neither of them realize James is far more unstable than her father ever was, or that he’s not about to let Sarah forget her half of the pact…

Cover Reveal! Pretty Amy by: Lisa Burstein March 5, 2012

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tara Fuller @ 5:30 AM

I am so unbelievably excited to be able to host the cover reveal for Lisa Burstein’s new contemporary YA novel PRETTY AMY! If you know Lisa then you know she is amazing and I expect nothing less from her stunning debut novel that hits shelves May 15th, 2012.

PRETTY AMY

By: Lisa Burstein

Amy is fine living in the shadows of beautiful Lila and uber-cool Cassie, because at least she’s somewhat beautiful and uber-cool by association. But when their dates stand them up for prom, and the girls take matters into their own hands—earning them a night in jail outfitted in satin, stilettos, and Spanx—Amy discovers even a prom spent in handcuffs might be better than the humiliating“rehabilitation techniques” now filling up her summer. Worse, with Lila and Cassie parentally banned, Amy feels like she has nothing—like she is nothing.
Navigating unlikely alliances with her new coworker, two very different boys, and possibly even her parents, Amy struggles to decide if it’s worth being a best friend when it makes you a public enemy. Bringing readers along on an often hilarious and heartwarming journey, Amy finds that maybe getting a life only happens once you think your life is over.

Lisa Burstein is a tea seller by day and a writer by night. She wrote her first story when she was in second grade. It was a Thanksgiving tale from the point of view of the turkey from freezer to oven to plate. It was scandalous.

She was a lot like Amy when she was in high school.

She is still a lot like Amy.

Perigee Moon Launch Party & An Awesome Night With My Readers March 2, 2012

I want to give a HUGE thank you to every one that came out to the PERIGEE MOON launch party last night to help me celebrate the release. It was a blast and I enjoyed getting to hang out with all of you. From the Perigee Moon cupcakes to the awesome questions you guys had for me, the night was perfect. For those of you that were there with me in spirit, here are some pics of what you missed! :)

Yes… those are cupcakes with little Perigee Moons on them. My sister-in-law sort of rocks.

Reading an excerpt from PERIGEE MOON. Thank God my voice held out because it is gone today, lol!

This is what I look like when I’m signing a book…and I have no idea what to write, but I’m trying to look like I know what I’m doing anyway.

Some of the awesome readers that came to the event. The rest were standing in the back because that’s where the cool kids hang out. Or so I’ve heard.

Me giving the winner of the drawing her free books. I never win anything , so giving stuff away to someone who says they never win anything was pretty cool.

My husband striking a pose with me. He wears his sunglasses at night. Why? Because that’s how we roll.

Me answering questions. Also a pic of readers getting me to admit I watch One Tree Hill.

Yeah, I had a podium. I only used as a hidey-hole for my giveaway prizes a capri sun though.

Thanks again to everyone for all of the support! I can’t wait to hang out with you all again at the INBETWEEN release in August!
